NAPLEX Study Plan


When I was creating this NAPLEX study plan, I wanted to give you breaks or more time between the more dense or difficult topics. As you see the below study plan, you may notice that some days on the plan are harder than other but it can be manageable. Let’s dive into the NAPLEX study plan-


10 Weeks NAPLEX Study Plan

Week 1

  • Day 1: Basic Calculation; Laminate important formulas page and put in shower
  • Day 2: Compounding and dispensing calculations
  • Day 3: Diabetes
  • Day 4: Dyslipidemia
  • Day 5: Weight Loss; Answering Case-Based Exam Questions
  • Day 6: Review the Day 1 to 5 and note the key points


Week 2

  • Day 1: Hypertension, Anti-coagulation
  • Day 2: Intravenous Medication Principles; Chronic Heart Failure
  • Day 3: Basic Science Concepts, Acute & Critical Care Medicine
  • Day 4: About screening medical information (like look at INR for warfarin)
  • Day 5: Stable Ischemic Heart Disease; Acute Coronary Syndrome
  • Day 6: Review the Day 1 to 5 and note the key points


Week 3

  • Day 1: Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension; Arrhythmias
  • Day 2: Drug-drug interactions
  • Day 3: Drug contraindications, allergies, precautions
  • Day 4: Adverse drug effects, toxicology
  • Day 5: Clinical Pharmacy Calculation; PK/PD
  • Day 6: Review the Day 1 to 5 and note the key points


Week 4

  • Day 1: Dosage forms, Stability & Excipients
  • Day 2: Drug dosing, dose adjustments, duration of therapy
  • Day 3: Antibiotics (background and classification)
  • Day 4: Immunizations, Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)
  • Day 5: Biostatistics (RRR, NNT, etc.)
  • Day 6: Review the Day 1 to 5 and note the key points


Week 5

  • Day 1: Pharmacology, MOA, or therapeutic class of drugs
  • Day 2: Black box warning
  • Day 3: Common Cancer Types & Treatment
  • Day 4: GERD & PUD (Drug Formulations & Patient Counseling)
  • Day 5: Contraception, Infertility, ADHD, Menopause
  • Day 6: Review the Day 1 to 5 and note the key points


Week 6

  • Day 1: Seizures/Epilepsy, Schizophrenia/Psychosis; Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder
  • Day 2: Asthma; COPD; Cystic Fibrosis
  • Day 3: Constipation & Diarrhea; Motion Sickness
  • Day 4: Thyroid Disorders; Hormonal disorders
  • Day 5: Drug Use in Pregnancy & Lactation; Depression
  • Day 6: Review the Day 1 to 5 and note the key points


Week 7

  • Day 1: Sexual Dysfunction; Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)
  • Day 2: Migraine, Pain, Hepatic Failure, Renal Failure
  • Day 3: Inflammatory Bowel Disease
  • Day 4: Allergic Rhinitis, Cough & Cold
  • Day 5: Practice Test-I
  • Day 6: Practice Test-II


Week 8

  • Day 1: Gout; Dietary Supplements, Natural & Complementary Medicine
  • Day 2: Parkinson Disease; Alzheimer’s disease
  • Day 3: Hepatitis & Liver Disease
  • Day 4: Systemic Steroids & Autoimmune Conditions
  • Day 5: Practice Test-III
  • Day 6: Practice Test-IV


Week 9

  • Day 1: Antifungals & Antivirals
  • Day 2: Pharmacogenomics
  • Day 3: Lab value, Drug monitoring parameters, techniques, tools, frequency and follow up
  • Day 4: Calculation Practices -I
  • Day 5: Practice Test-V
  • Day 6: Practice Test-VI


Week 10

  • Day 1: Medication Safety & Quality Improvement
  • Day 2: Federal law
  • Day 3: State law
  • Day 4: Calculation Practices -II
  • Day 5: Practice Test-VII
  • Day 6: Practice Test-VIII
